Tomorrow's collaborative development session: build and deploy a working browser/device fingerprinting solution from scratch.
An experimental fingerprinting system that:
- Collects browser and device signals (canvas, WebGL, audio, fonts, etc.)
- Generates unique visitor identifiers
- Tests reliability across different browsers and devices
- Auto-deploys to Cloudflare for live testing
We'll leverage existing open-source fingerprinting libraries (FingerprintJS, ClientJS, or similar) as our foundation, then extend with:
- Custom signal collection
- Enhanced identification algorithms
- Real-world testing scenarios
- Get something working - functional fingerprint collection and ID generation
- Deploy it live - auto-deploy to Cloudflare for immediate testing
- Test accuracy - see how reliably we can identify returning visitors
- Learn together - understand what signals matter most and why
- Working fingerprinting endpoint deployed to Cloudflare
- Test page to demonstrate fingerprint collection
- Documentation of what signals we collect and how
- Assessment of accuracy and limitations
This is an experimental learning project, not production-ready software. We're exploring techniques and testing feasibility.
Status: Pre-development - session scheduled for 2026-02-27
(Will be added during the session)
Auto-deploys to Cloudflare on push to main.
