Just to confirm - from my testing, the backport here is affected by this issue too: rancher/rancher#46567

So as we apply the fix for 2.9 (don't think 2.10 is affected with 61.3.2 upstream) we'll want to backport to 2.8 as well.

Per my other comment, the only issue I am seeing is an already known issue that I'm seeking to fix today. The fix will first come in 2.9 branch after I sort out what new images to mirror for the fix and after that we'll backport to 2.8.

Since that process could take time I don't think it should hold back this PR - especially since we need this RC for UI team to continue IIRC.
