Accessing Image Tools

  1. Load an image in the Cover Image panel
  2. Click the Tools button (wrench icon)
  3. Select the desired tool

Format Conversion

Convert images between PNG, JPEG, and WebP formats.

Supported Conversions

From To
JPEG PNG, WebP
PNG JPEG, WebP
WebP PNG, JPEG

How to Use

  1. Load an image
  2. Click ToolsConvert Format
  3. Select target format
  4. The image is converted in-place (original file unchanged)

Notes

  • Converting TO JPEG is lossy (reduces quality)
  • PNG and WebP (lossless) preserve full quality
  • Always use PNG for encoded images

Metadata Viewer

View EXIF and other metadata embedded in images.

What Metadata Shows

  • Camera: Make, model, lens
  • Settings: ISO, aperture, shutter speed
  • Location: GPS coordinates (if present)
  • Date: When the photo was taken
  • Software: Editing applications used

Privacy Concern

Photos from phones often contain:

  • Exact GPS location
  • Device serial numbers
  • Timestamps

Always strip metadata before sharing!

Metadata Stripping

Remove all metadata from an image for privacy.

What Gets Removed

  • EXIF data (camera info, settings)
  • GPS coordinates
  • Timestamps
  • Thumbnails
  • Software tags
  • Copyright info
  • All other metadata

How to Use

  1. Load an image
  2. Click ToolsStrip Metadata
  3. Metadata is removed from the in-app image
  4. Save/encode to create a clean file

Why Strip Metadata?

Risk Example
Location tracking GPS shows your home address
Device fingerprinting Serial numbers identify your phone
Timeline analysis Timestamps reveal your schedule
Software analysis Shows what apps you use

Best Practices

Before Encoding

  1. Strip metadata from your cover image
  2. Convert to PNG if starting with JPEG
  3. Check the image doesn't contain identifying info
