Not sure if this rewrite is really an improvement. After rerunning the original query the elapsed time ranged between 30s and 50s. The rewrite also varied in response time between 30s and 50s. |

Changing listing of tables to use
JOINstatements changed the order of the tables in the explain. Observed 7s improvement (was 50s on original query). Not if this would be an improvement on higher scales.
