Hello there!

I'm Marcin Kulik, the creator and dedicated maintainer of asciinema, a FOSS tool for recording and sharing terminal sessions. Since its inception in 2011, I've poured countless hours into its development, ensuring that it stands out as a reliable, feature-rich, and accessible solution for command-line users worldwide.

My journey began with a simple idea to create a tool that could capture terminal magic and share it seamlessly. Fast forward, asciinema project has grown to encompass 3 core components:

• the recorder: terminal session recorder, aka CLI,
• the player: web player for terminal session recordings,
• the server: web app for hosting the recordings, powering asciinema.org — the primary hub for sharing and discovering terminal sessions.

Complementing these are sub-projects like agg - asciinema GIF generator, or avt, which lives at the heart of the player and is also used in agg and the server.

In addition to maintaining all the projects under asciinema organization I'm keeping asciinema.org, free recording hosting site, up and running for the benefit of the community for over a decade.

My journey with asciinema has been one of dedication and persistence. While juggling my regular job, I've been committed to ensuring asciinema not only remains functional but continues to evolve, meeting the needs of its growing user base.

• Live streaming of terminal, kind of Twitch but for terminal,
• Better support for double-width character alignment (emojis, Korean, Chinese)
• Full-text search for recordings on asciinema.org,
• Improvements to sharing and access control of recordings.
