I am Bernhard von Stengel, one of the Gambit mentors for the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) and an early contributor to the Gambit project not long since it started with Richard McKelvey (no longer alive) around 1990. I also met Ted Turocy there, another mentor, then a student at Caltech, who has since become the maintainer of the Gambit project. My main contributions are on the development of algorithms for finding equilibria in games. Specifically, I found the "sequence form" which is a strategic description of an extensive game which has the same size as the game tree, as opposed to the common "strategic" or "normal" form which generally has exponential size.
