Conferences
There are several conferences throughout the year that a subset of SXS people usually attend, so these are a great opportunity to meet your fellow colleagues!
- The most popular one about is the APS April Meeting (in fact there usually ends up being a session entirely full of SXS people). The meeting is held yearly, usually in April, and the location of the meeting changes every year, with the 2020 meeting having been held fully online due to Covid-19. The meetings are usually announced in the fall with a call for abstracts. To apply and attend you need to be an APS member. For travel funding assistance for students, APS DGRAV and APS DAP have student travel grants you can apply for.
We especially encourage students and postdoc as to submit abstracts to speak at the April APS Meeting. To help us coordinate talks, if you plan to submit an abstract for the 2023 meeting, please add your draft title here.
-
Other popular conferences are the regional APS DGRAV conferences, including the Jim Einsenberg Pacific Coast Gravity Meeting (PCGM, west coast), the Eastern Gravity Meeting (EGM, east coast), the Midwest Relativity Meeting (MRM, midwest), and the Gulf Coast Gravity Meeting (GCGM, gulf coast). Not all of these meetings are held every year, so keep an eye on the DGRAV meeting site to see if there's one in your region.

The international Edoardo Amaldi Conference on GWs and the international LISA symposium alternate even and odd years (both sponsored by GWIC)
-
Every three years, there is an annual GRn conference, where n stands for the nth instance in the series (2019 had the GR22 meeting). Every 6 years, this is joint with the Edoardo Amaldi conference.

You can find more meetings listed on the LIGO conferences/meetings calendar
