Allows you to download resources (maps, sounds and textures) from community servers without hassle. Workaround for issue #11 from September 2014. Just run this once and forget about it. :)
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install make cmake gcc git libcurl-dev
git clone https://github.com/ericek111/linux-csgo-downloadfixer
cd linux-csgo-downloadfixer
cmake .
make
You must run this as root!
cd [install dir]
sudo ./csgo_downloadfixer
To update, just run git pull
and compile again.
The program accepts a couple of optional arguments:
-nowrite [delay]
- described below.
-bz2
- enable BZ2 auto-decompression and don't download already decompressed files - recommended for slower internet connections or when the original files are not present on the server.
You can also prevent the program from writing to CS:GO's memory. This will make the very very very slim (we're talking almost non-existent) chance of getting VAC banned none.
Just pass -nowrite
as a CLI argument. However, you'll have to execute retry
command within 10 seconds after all of the files are downloaded.
The delay is configurable, just make it the second argument. For a delay of 20 seconds:
sudo ./csgo_downloadfixer -nowrite 20
