- Non-sensitive name changes where the competitor still wishes to have their previous name displayed for past competitions and as a notice on their profile (e.g. last name changes due to marriage).

**A note on last name changes:** Until July 2024, the WRT executed all non-sensitive last name changes as updates. Competitors now have the choice as to whether they would like their name change executed as a fix or as an update. It is possible for any previous name change update to be changed to a fix by contacting the WRT.

Changes in a competitor’s information can be requested directly by the competitor or through the WCA Delegate. If the competitor contacts the WRT directly, a legal document of identification must be provided. If the Delegate is making the request, they must verify the competitor is the correct person and that the information provided is correct (e.g. dates of birth or last names) or at least sensible (e.g. first name or gender changes).
