Welcome to tigerbrain's Alexa and MyQ Multi Door Support wiki!

Project History

  • 31-JAN-2021: Updated README to redirect users to RJCOHN's site who is now hosting the latest code that I have personally tested to work.
  • 15-FEB-2017: Updated to support Chamberlain's updated API based on changes implemented by jbnunn with the help of arraylabs.
  • 09-FEB-2017: Updated to support a simpler command set for units connected to a single garage. Thereby, eliminating the need to mention the exact door number if it doesn't apply.
  • 05-FEB-2017: Updated lambda-upload.zip file to fix a bug that caused the code to stop working on 04-FEB-2017 due to a change in endpoint targets.
  • 03-FEB-2017: Created a fork of jbnunn's repository to release an enhanced and fully working version of the modified code that supports activating a second garage door under a single MyQ gateway along with some feature enhancements that help simplify installation and introduce an ability to configure Alexa to only allow her to close garages (but never to open) if so desired for security reasons.
  • 31-JAN-2017: First release of the modified code. The code worked partially but still failed to address the issue of activating the second garage door.
  • 29-JAN-2017: Through the official Chamberlain forum, I discovered that jbnunn's code, though fully working, did not address an issue regarding users who wanted to operate multiple garage doors with a single MyQ device, so I decided to take on the challenge and study what he did and see if I can make some code changes to make his program work better.
  • 26-JAN-2017: Navigate through the official Chamberlain and LiftMaster forums to post the newly created instructions to hopefully benefit someone.
  • 24-JAN-2017: Created StepByStepInstructions document and contributed it to jbnunn's repository to help make it easier for others to install.
  • 20-JAN-2017: Found jbnunn's Git repository and decided to give it a try
