1. Getting Started
There are a number of excellent tutorials on setting up a map to help plan waypoint submissions for PokemonGO/Ingress. This will not attempt to reproduce them but to guide you on how to use them to get started. The process is well detailed on this page and it is recommended that you read through it. The major steps are summarized below.
You can't do anything without an Ingress account. You will need to download Ingress Prime on your mobile device, make an account within the app and go through the initial steps. After completing this, you do not have to keep the app on your phone (but you might want to for up-voting portals to become gyms. More on this later.) If you use a Google account for Pokemon GO, you can use the same account. There is some advantage to doing this, if you end up playing Ingress.
How you do this depends if you are going to do it on mobile or desktop.
PC or Mac: Install Tampermonkey and then install IITC-CE.
Android: Install IITC-CE Mobile
iOS: Install IITC Mobile
The Pogo Tools script makes your new IITC map PokemonGo friendly. It is somewhat different to install in a desktop browser vs the mobile IITC aps.
Desktop Install: click here and the script should open in Tampermonkey and prompt you to install it.
Mobile Device Install: for Android and iOS installs, go to this page and scroll down to the Install instructions. There is a different link to use for Android vs iOS. However, once installed, it is set up in a similar way.
Now you are ready to use the JSON file of Pokestops and Gyms available in this repository, following the instructions on the front page.
