Packet Format

Robert Kiel edited this page Nov 19, 2018 · 3 revisions

The protocol uses a slightly extended version of the SPHINX packet format.

Advantages of the SPHINX packet format

  • one trustworthy hop in the chain suffices to ensure privacy
  • incoming and outgoing messages are computationally indistinguishable
  • single-use replies blocks allow both, sender and receiver, to hide their identity
  • hidden path length*

* up to a maximal path length specified by the header size
