MADYS v1.1.0
This repository hosts the code of MADYS: the Manifold Age Determination for Young Stars, a flexible Python tool for parameter determination of young stellar and substellar objects.
Compared to v1.0.0, several new function and a new class have been added.
For a thorough description of the modifications of this version, please refer to the documentation and/or the GitHub homepage.
MADYS v1.0.0
This repository includes the first complete version of MADYS: the Manifold Age Determination for Young Stars, a flexible Python tool for age and mass determination of young stellar and substellar objects.
Compared to its beta version, the model and filter database of MADYS has largely expanded, and many additional modifications are about to come. The user can now select one or more photometric bands - for which no photometry is available - to compute the synthetic photometry expected for an object fitted by MADYS in that (those) band(s). This feature is particularly relevant for those who seek to estimate the expected luminosity of a known object in, e.g., foreseen JWST observations.
For a thorough description of the modifications of this version, please refer to the documentation and/or the GitHub homepage.
MADYS v0.5.0-beta
This repository includes the beta version of MADYS: the Manifold Age Determination for Young Stars, a flexible Python tool for age and mass determination of young stellar and substellar objects.
In this first full release, MADYS automatically retrieves and cross-matches photometry from several catalogs, estimates interstellar extinction, and derives age and mass estimates for individual objects through isochronal fitting.
Harmonising the heterogeneity of publicly-available isochrone grids, the tool allows to choose amongst 17 models, many of which with customisable astrophysical parameters (for a total of about 120 grids). Note that the grids are not downloaded when installing MADYS. Instructions on how to download them are provided in the .ipynb notebook in GitHub's /example directory.
Several dedicated plotting function are provided to allow a visual perception of the numerical output.

MADYS - alpha
This repository includes the first version of MADYS
: the Manifold Age Determination for Young Stars, a flexible Python tool for age and mass determination of young stellar and substellar objects.
In this first release, MADYS
automatically retrieves and cross-matches photometry from several catalogs, estimates interstellar extinction, and derives age and mass estimates for individual objects through isochronal fitting.
Harmonising the heterogeneity of publicly-available isochrone grids, the tool allows to choose amongst several models, many of which with customisable astrophysical parameters
Note that, since this is an alpha version, it only includes a sub-set of isochrones.
The full set, including 16 models with more than 100 isochrone grids, will be included the first full release, expected for July 2022.
Several dedicated plotting function are provided to allow a visual perception of the numerical output.
