This frees up some more space for content that was previously being eaten up by unnecessary gaps and padding. It also centers some off-center icons.

This sets us up to use the Electron auto-update mechanism, which requires a zip file instead of a dmg. I also cleaned up the
build-universal.shfile so that it can eventually be run from an agent with less implicit assumptions.
