How to report a problem/bug ?

From time to time bugs may creap into GSN [in both the latest release and the master branch]. If you notice that your GSN installation acting strangely and think it might be a bug, please go through the following check list to report a bug.

• Open conf/log4j2.xml and make sure that it logs all the DEBUG messages.
• Only keep the problematic virtual sensors and try to keep the number of running virtual sensors to a minimum.
• Run the GSN long enough to (re)generate the problem.
• Pack the conf/gsn.xml, logs/gsn.log and all the active virtual sensors into one zip file.
• Submit the bug report here.

Note: Before reporting a bug, make sure you remove all the confidential details (password, IP address, host name, etc) from the setup.

The GSN team is always open to your bug reports. In order to resolve the problem as quickly as possible we need you to provide us with all the aforementioned details.
