Opening: Winter

1. Misc.
   • Unlock the front door
   • Unlock the pantry door
   • Turn on the main power by pulling Main #1 handle up (Labeled "Main Disconnect").
   • Turn on switches at the far end of the pantry
2. Basement
   • Unlock the tunnel, first aid, and tunnel doors
   • Turn on the stairwell heater
   • Start a fire in the wood furnace. Assure flue damper is open (handle parallel with pipe axis). Paper & matches are in the drying room. Bottom door needs to be open initially, then closed. Firebox door needs to be closed except when stoking fire. Adjust air dampers above furnace to allow heat upstairs. Fans can be turned on when temperature builds.
3. Dorms
   • Unlock the 4 dorm doors
   • Verify thermostats in study and women's dorm set to 60°F.
4. Wait for lodge to warm above freezing (thermometers on main floor near bookshelf and in kitchen)
5. Downstairs
   • in men's john, lift the floor hatch. Close the 2 bypass valves, close the lodge drain valve, open lodge water supply valves. Chart on wall shows color coding.
   • Close the drain valve on wall opposite the sinks near the floor
   • Close HWT drain valve under sink outside john. Open hot and cold faucets in sink and run until air is bled. Turn off. Turn on hot water tank under the sinks.
   • Close the shower HWTs drain valves. Turn on shower valves one at a time until air is bled. This may take a while. Then turn on both circuit breakers in the pantry for hot water tanks.
   • Close the P-trap drain valves on drain below newspaper supply in drying room.
   • Close the P-trap drain valves under the sinks
