Transport Rings

Transport rings in action

Transport rings are the way of travelling to much shorter distances than through Stargates. Useful mainly for vertical transport.

Range

Rings have (relatively) small horizontal range. Default one is radius of 25 blocks each way(configurable) and unlimited(255 blocks) vertical range.

Operation

Nice looking platfrom made from Marble(Project Red) and Skystone(Applied Energistics 2)

You'll need to make a platform for the rings. Technically you don't need. But it looks nice and it's very practical.

Invisible blocks placement

The rings place invisible light-emmiting blocks at positions showed above. 3 blocks tall, 1 blocks above ground columns. They are blocking entities from leaving the rings while present. Rings need 7x4x7 clear area around rings block.

To be changed. There should be small window of opportunity when your mate activates the rings when you are in the area and you just got teleported...

Matter now is swapped between the two platforms(Items, mobs and blocks).

Transport Rings Controller

Goa'uld variant - the only one available now

When the controller is placed in the world it links itself to the Transport Rings Block in 10 block radius(configurable)

Setting the address

You can operate up to 6 rings on one grid. This limit is enforced by number buttons available on the controller. The address can be set by clicking with Ancient Analyzer either on linked controller or the block itself.

GUI

Colorful!

The GUI is used to set address and name for current ring platform. It checks for duplicates and registers itself within found platforms. If you put the platform in the grid(by settings it's address), other platforms should appear below. Now, go ahead and dial it!

Dialing

The order of buttons

You just need to right-click the controller pointing the crosshair at the right address.

Power draw

Not implemented. Free!
Planning to implement it. I'll probably use some smaller energy crystals and Forge Energy.
