Reputation
Reputation is a statistic in CityZen that can be earned by Citizens and indirectly by Cities. A Citizen's reputation must be between 0 and the maximum value for a long in Java (which happens to be 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 or nearly 10 quintillion, if you're curious).
Reputation is distributed primarily through commands (such as /citizen addrep <Citizen> <amount>), and thus can be modified via command blocks and other plugins. Anything that can send commands can alter a player's reputation.
Reputation is also modified through the following first-party events:
- Creating a City (default: +1000)
- Joining a City (default: +100)
- Buying a Plot (default: +100)
- Claiming a Plot (default: +100)
- Leaving a Plot (default: -100)
- Selling a Plot (default: -100)
- Deleting a City (default: -1000)
- Leaving a City (default: -25%)
- Evicted from from a City (default: -50%)
These are only the default values, and can be changed by the server owner in config.yml.
The default reputation for Citizens can be modified in config.yml, and the default starting reputation is 0. The server can set a maximum value for reputation, and by default this is 1,000,000,000,000,000 (1 quadrillion). Make sure to scale your reputation system responsibly so that players can safely stay under the max value at all times.
Reputation is an indicator of how prolific a Citizen or City is on the server. When a Citizen or City's individual highest reputation reaches certain levels, they will receive rewards. For more information, see the Rewards page.
In the future, servers may have the option to restrict certain features, such as joining cities or creating plots, to Citizens of certain Reputation thresholds.
Cities can also have reputation, however it's calculated a little differently. Instead of having an inherent reputation, it is instead the sum of the City's Citizens. Cities can receive rewards for their highest reputations as well, however these are distributed to all residents of the City.
