See if this helps with the swallowed up error messages
Since one of our tests needs to run git commit, otherwise git complains and the test fails.
So we can actually see the error.
This isn't yet wired into the DSL, exposed via depend_files
This is needed to find any vcs control structures
There is still no support for depfiles, so that would need to be implemented. But it's a start
