Sprint 3 delivery

Kaisa Arumeel edited this page May 29, 2023 · 1 revision

The main focuses of Sprint 3:

  • Writing documentation (ReadMe, User manual, Wiki pages)
  • Adding notification/alarm features
  • Making the buffer smaller so that the data would be shown on the screen as smoothly and soon as possible.
  • Final video
  • Deployment of the GUI on a server

Challenges and Lessons Learned

In Sprint 3 we did not work as much on code as on documentation, thus we did not face huge challenges. We found out that our sector specification was not working due to an error in the Wio code. However, this was a quick fix. Moreover, We learned how to use GitLab CI/CD to constantly upload the GUI for the main branch on a server and make it available on the web. We also learned to see how a radar can work as ana alarm system when objects get closer to it.

Learning Outcomes

Mostly we understood the importance of good documentation, both in code and outside of it. For instance, we learnt how much easier it is to understand code when it is well commented. We also could see the benefit of continuous deployment which helps us see how the project looks like on behalf of end users. One more learning outcome was the difference that we need to make between the end users and other developers trying to expand on our project. This is reflected in the way the ReadMe and the User Manual are written. User Manual depicts the "How to Use" part and ReadMe depicts the "How to develop" part.
