- JK informed that a new release of OSCAR/Surface is planned to be launched soon, just before Congress-18.
- The following issues were discussed:
- Issue #103 - agreed that the entries “Unknown” and “Inapplicable” need a rationale for each code table, therefore, a revision should be done for all code tables;
- Issue #46 related to code table 1-01-03 - the entries “tides” and “coastal” were accepted;
- Issue #88 related to code table 5-05 - agreed to add the entry “Unknown” and to replace “Other” by “Inapplicable”, as well as a few more edits to some of the descriptions;
- Issue #91 related to the concept of “Station classes”, the suggestion of adding a new WMDS element and to create a code table was rejected; It was agreed that it is not a metadata element, rather a combination of search criteria based on the existing elements, so it should not be added to the standard;
- Issue #100 related to the place of the Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN) in the tree of “Programme/Network affiliation” – Action for LN to follow-up in the Secretariat;
- Issue #102 related to the question raised by Argentina on the meaning of the field “Date established” in OSCAR/Surface:
- Agreed not to change the WMDS, rather to refer that field in OSCAR/Surface to the WMDS element “1-03 Temporal Extent”;
- The tooltip in OSCAR/Surface for “date established” should be improved, e.g. as “date of the first measurement”.
- The review of actions from TT-WMD-7 was postponed; ACTION: Secretariat will see how to make the list of actions available in Github.
- It was agreed to setup a Doodle Poll for the next telecom, tentatively for end of May/early June.
