How FAangband differs from Angband

  • spellcasting - more realms, half-casters use a subset of books
  • character dumps - 'C' screen and character dump unified
  • integer values for resists, stat bonuses, other bonuses, slays, brands
  • more and varied curses
  • ID by use - pseudo-ID on wield, different handling of when things are noticed
  • almost all FA jewellery is randart-like
  • 4GAI - better pathfinding, smarter spellcasting, monster mana
  • wilderness, multiple towns and dungeons
  • dedicated throwing weapons which go in the quiver
  • more mixed-blessing ego items
  • O-style combat
  • More varied terrain
  • Some players can set monster traps, and steal from monsters
  • Chests are rarer, but better
  • Some monsters are not hostile
