How to get started with PCR (Universal)

Slack Channels

As of now, we have public Slack channels (#code-reviews-cpp and #code-reviews-python) as part of the Applied Math Slack workspace (appliedmathgrad.slack.com). Make sure to join the appropriate Slack channel so that you can stay up-to-date with the changes and communications and can see the availability of reviewers. All AM students should have access to the Slack group (if not, please reach out to aheydari@ucmerced.edu or mpolimeno@ucmerced.edu).

GitHub Organization

To simplify automated workflows and review processes, we have decided to use GitHub. This platform is naturally well-suited for collaborative work, as it allows multiple personal accounts to contribute to shared projects by joining the same GitHub Organization. Given the interest shown by students and faculty, we were able to secure funding via the Research and Training Grant (RTG) of the UCM Applied Math Department for the purchase of 20 GitHub Teams licenses, with our new GitHub Teams being available at https://github.com/Peer-Code-Review (which you are currently viewing!). This paid version of GitHub organization allows members to request multiple reviewers for both public and private repositories, as well as other enhanced collaborative features that will facilitate the code review process.

To join the GitHub Teams, please reach out to Matteo on Slack or via his email.
