TCC windows overview

Windows behaviour and settings

Behaviour

All TCC elements are basically standard Windows' windows (no pun intended), but their behaviour is affected by TERA window state.

Topmost timer

When TCC is launched, a timer is started. This timer ticks every second and makes TCC perform a check of the current foreground window. If this window is TERA, it forces all TCC windows to be visible and on top of everything else, else they're hidden until TERA is foreground again.

Visible status

TCC's visibility is not affected only by Topmost timer. Other variables affecting it are:

  • logged in status
  • loading screen status

Dim status

When a window is "dim" it means that its opacity is lower and that its click through state will be changed depending on click through mode. This allows windows to be less "intrusive" when not really needed. Dim status is triggered when:

  • logging in
  • current encounter ends (boss despawns)
  • after two seconds since last skill cooldown started (if no encounter is in progress)

Settings

Almost all TCC windows have several common settings that allow the user to customize each window's behaviour.

Enabled (on/off)

Sets a window as enabled or disabled, hiding it if disabled. When a window is disabled all server data related to it is ignored, so the window will not track data while in this state.

Visible (on/off)

Sets a window as visible or invisible. Unlike Enabled setting, a hidden window will still track data in background, even if not visible.

Show always (on/off)

Makes a window ignore current foreground window. When turned on, it will make the window stay visible even if TERA is not the current application, showing it on top of any other application the user switches to.

Allow offscreen (on/off)

Allows the window to cross screen boundaries when dragging it.

Click through mode (Never, Always, WhenDim, WhenUndim, GameDriven)

Sets the window's click through behaviour. When a window is in click through state, it will ignore all mouse movements and clicks.

  • Never: the window will always be clickable (if visible)
  • Always: the window will never be clickable
  • WhenDim: the window will only be clickable when in dim status (if visible and Dim opacity is not 0)
  • WhenUndim: the window will only be clickable when not in dim status (if visible)
  • GameDriven: the window will have its click through state set by ingame UI state. The window will be set as click through when mouse is used to move ingame camera; the window will be set as clickable when TERA UI is switched to mouse mode (Alt key by default)

Scale (0-3)

Scales a window up or down (min 0x, max 3x).

Auto dim (on/off)

Allows a window to be set as dim.

Dim opacity (0-1)

Sets window's opacity when in dim mode. If 0, the window will not be clickable when dim, regardless of click through mode.
