General Faveo Upgrade Guide Auto
We have introduced a new feature Auto Updates where the Faveo system will update to the latest version automatically.
The basic requirement for an auto update are :-
- A valid subscribed user
- Active order_number, serial_key/serial_number
- Registered domain with faveo.
If the above requirements are not met, faveo does not allow user to update the system.
When a new version is released faveo will automatically update the user via in app notification.
- Click on the “click here” link shown in the below example(image).
- You will be redirected to an update page:
- If the user does not meet the requirement we will get a different message.
The above message is displayed if the order_number, serial_key or domain is mismatched. A user can always verify their details with faveo billing site https://www.faveohelpdesk.com/billing/public/login
- If faveo is not able to verify the user’s order number or serial_key, the system will automatically redirect the user to a page to enter all the details.
-
Before updating the system faveo creates an automated backup. Even though the system automatically creates a backup we recommend users to create a backup of faveo.
-
Once the backup is created we can click on the update button (show in step 2 ). We will get a pop up message to confirm click on update.
- Once the update process is started faveo creates a system backup.
- Once the backup is completed faveo will start downloading the updates files
- Once the download is completed faveo will start to update the system. While updating, the application will be in maintenance mode (during maintenance mode none of the pages are accessible) Note: During the update process we should not close or refresh the page
- Once the update process is complete we will see a message “Your system has been updated successfully”
