SPICE is the calculation subsystem for most space missions these days.
In principle, it is able to calculate positions and orientations of objects in the solar system and their relationship in 3D space with each other.
Many observations need a graphical understanding of how the observation was performed exactly in the analysis phase. The idea would be to find a common ground for a system to visualize observations for any space mission.
-> Eyes of the Solar System already does a lot of this.. ask them for an interface to Python to interface with analysis problems?
