How to convert car from Mafia 2 classic to Mafia 2 Definitive Edition?

Tested on car model Chevrolet Bel Air 1957 by Agens

Changes in MTL file

Open MTL file generated by zmodeler/downloaded from nexusmods/playground/other sites. Check all materials with ShaderID 8262983351337115690. If they are original then ShaderHash is 1624361135. If you want to convert them you need to change shaderhash to 992210312 Rest materials are same (at least in this model) Then save mtl file, and merge with default.mtl

Changes in car sds file

Modded car from Mafia 2 Classic in Mafia 2 Defintive Edition looks like chameleon, well that because Mafia 2 Definitive Edition has another paint textures. You need to copy all dds files from extracted original Mafia 2 Definitive Edition model and copy & replace to your extracted modded car. Copy and replace/paste entries responsible for textures in sdscontent.xml too. To do so, double click on sdscontent.xml to open sds content editor. In that editor click option Tools and then click Auto-Add files. If a warning message appears then accept it. Then select File and click Save. Go back to cars folder and pack sds file back.

Sounds

Mafia 2 Definitive Edition uses FSB5 instead of old FSB 4 used in Mafia 2 Classic. Mafia 2 Definitive Edition can't load FSB4 type sounds, so you can't hear the car sounds. At the moment it is not known how to create new fsb5 file to make them work in game. Therefore only way to fix sounds is copying original sounds from Sound_Table folder inside original M2DE car sds and replace them in modded car sds.
