Basic Application Structure

Communities

A community is a themed group consisting of relevant events. Communities are designed to group events based on their subject matter. Communities are displayed on the main page as blocks, highlighting a selection of nested events.

An example of a community is as follows;

  • Institution
  • Entertainment
  • Cuisine
  • Recreation in Brisbane

Events

An event must be specific, physical, an organised; includes a date and time, expected duration, and, frequency (if required). Events are tagged with a genre or category type to assist with grouping and ordering of event collections.

An example of an event is as follows;

  • LIVE MUSIC Saturday 22/10/17:- Mick O'Malley's Irish Pub, Queen Street Mall, Brisbane City.
  • MUSIC CONCERT Tuesday 12/09/17:- Ariana Grande Dangerous Woman World Tour, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Boondall.
  • FARMERS MARKETS Sunday 23/10/17:- South Bank Sunday Farmers Markets, South Bank Plaza, South Bank.

Groups

A group consists of people who share an interest in a specific event. Groups have the opportunity to converse using message boards and chat rooms within the Culture Connect platform. Each event will have one or more groups. One user can be a member of multiple groups within and across events.

Groups are designed to allow users the ability to meet new people and discuss similar interest around a specific and focused subject matter.

Structural Relationship

A community consists of one or more events. An event consists of one or more groups. A group consists of one or more users.
