Creating Homebrew Data
Despite the fact that the source books provided for any tabletop RPG are filled to the brim with NPCs, enemies, items and lore almost every Game-Master will at one point or another run into a situation where they need to create something custom for their campaign, arc or episode. The Homebrew creation tool will allow custom data to be created that will be stored in the special Homebrew source available for all other content creation tools within TrekSharp.
All homebrew creation tools are located in the navigation menu under Create > Homebrew Data
One type of custom data that a GM may need is a custom species in the cases of first contact situations, or just for designing cool new races for Players to be able to use. Creating a custom species involves choosing a name, description, homeworld, as well as species specific traits and some initial attribute modifiers which can be used during player character creation.
Custom NPC types are characters that are designed to be used during various encounters. GMs can use this tool to create major, notable, or minor NPCs belonging to any species including homebrewed species. For instance, maybe your campaign calls for an Andorian Guardsman and none of the sourcebooks have any data about such an NPC, you could create such an NPC here and then use it when designing player encounters.
Custom vessel classes are spaceframes that serve as the basis of player or npc vessels. GMs can use this tool to create powerful or weak classes of starships that can serve either the roll of a player vessel, or as an enemy vessel never before seen in the extended media.
Custom items cover a broad range of different things. From clothing, tools, weapons, or other McGuffins the custom item creator exists for this purpose. Once created these items can be given to player characters, support characters, or even encounter NPCs as weapons or rewards after combat.
