Spacecraft Battle Grids
The spacecraft battle grid creator is a tool designed to make floorplans for the interior of spacecraft which can be used as a combat arena for game sessions.
This tool can be accessed in the navigation menu under Create > Battle Grid and then selecting the Spacecraft tab
This particular app is a Godot game engine app that is loaded into the TrekSharp web-app. As a result, any data created within this app is not persisted between navigating to different pages. Once you are happy with a ship layout you should save it immediately by taking screenshots or other mechanisms.
Once the app has finished loading, the instructions for use appear in the bottom right corner.
Click on a part in the parts list and that part will appear in the scene and be attached to your mouse. Clicking anywhere on the screen will place that part. If there is another part nearby than parts can automatically "snap" together.
Click and drag any parts to move them around the scene. Like with new parts, these held parts can automatically "snap" to other parts.
When a part is held, either because it is newly created or because it is being dragged, the part can be manipulated. Use the Q/E buttons to rotate the part 45degrees in either direction. Sometime parts have multiple "anchors" which define where their "snap" origin is. These are represented as the red circles on the parts. Use R/F to swap between different "anchors" for held parts.
While holding a part press the DELETE key to remove the part from the scene permanently.
When scenes start to get too big, use the WASD keys to navigate around the scene.
Unlike other tools within TrekSharp the spacecraft battle grid creator does not have an export or publishing feature yet. In order to save maps created in this tool you should press TAB to hide the user interface and then use whatever screenshotting utilities (snipping tool, PRTSCN button, ...) to save the grid as a single image.
