The Quickstart panel provides a fast way to start emulating an Amiga by selecting a hardware model and loading a disk, CD, or WHDLoad game — without needing to configure individual hardware settings manually.
- Selects the Amiga model to emulate
- Available models: A500, A500+, A600, A1000, A1200, A3000, A4000, A4000T, CD32, CDTV, American Laser Games / Picmatic, Arcadia Multi Select, Macrosystem
- Changing the model automatically applies appropriate CPU, chipset, memory, and drive defaults
- Selects a sub-configuration variant for the chosen model (e.g., different memory or chipset options)
- Available options depend on the selected model
- Enables NTSC video mode (60 Hz) instead of the default PAL (50 Hz)
- Checkbox enables or disables the drive
-
Select file — opens a file browser to choose a floppy disk image (
.adf,.adz,.dms,.ipf,.zip,.7z,.lha,.fdi,.scp, and others) - Drive type combo — selects the floppy drive type (e.g., 3.5" DD, 3.5" HD, or FloppyBridge variants)
- Write-protected — marks the inserted disk as read-only
- ? — displays information about the currently inserted disk image
- Eject — removes the disk from the drive
- File path combo — shows recently used disk images; select one to insert it directly
For CD-based models (CD32, CDTV), the second drive slot is replaced by a CD drive:
-
Select file — opens a file browser to choose a CD image (
.cue,.bin,.iso,.ccd,.mds,.chd) - Eject — removes the CD image
- File path combo — shows recently used CD images and any physical CD drives detected on the host
Configures a WHDLoad game to launch automatically without manual hard drive setup.
- Opens a file browser to choose a WHDLoad game archive (
.lhaor.lzh) - Selecting a file automatically configures the emulated hardware for that game
- Clears the currently selected WHDLoad game
- Shows recently used WHDLoad archives; select one to load it directly
- When enabled, Amiberry opens the Quickstart panel automatically on startup instead of the last-used panel
- Applies the selected model and configuration to the current emulation settings
- Use this after changing the model or configuration to ensure all hardware defaults are applied before starting
