This panel configures audio output, volume levels, channel mode, interpolation, and floppy drive sound emulation.
- Selects which host audio device to use for sound output. Disabled when "System default" is checked, when sound is disabled, or when only one device is available
- Use the operating system's default audio device instead of a specific selection
- No sound processing or audio output
- The Paula sound chip is emulated for timing accuracy but produces no audio output. Useful for software that relies on Paula timing without needing sound
- Full sound emulation with audio output
- Automatically adjust sound emulation quality based on system performance. Only available when sound is enabled
- Master volume control for all audio output (0–100%)
- Select a sound source from the dropdown, then adjust its individual volume with the slider
- Paula: Amiga's built-in Paula sound chip
- CD: CD audio playback
- AHI: Retargetable audio (AHI.device)
- MIDI: External MIDI output
- Sets the audio output channel configuration
- Mono: Single channel output
- Stereo: Standard two-channel output
- Cloned stereo (4 ch): Stereo duplicated to 4 channels
- 4 Channels: Discrete 4-channel output
- Cloned stereo (5.1): Stereo duplicated to 5.1 channels
- 5.1 Channels: Discrete 5.1 surround output
- Cloned stereo (7.1): Stereo duplicated to 7.1 channels
- 7.1 channels: Discrete 7.1 surround output
- Controls the amount of separation between left and right channels (100% = full separation, 0% = mono mix). Only available in stereo or multi-channel modes
- Audio resampling quality filter
- Disabled: Raw output with no filtering
- Anti: Anti-aliasing filter
- Sinc: High-quality sinc resampling
- RH: RH resampling filter
- Crux: Crux resampling filter
- Audio output sample rate in Hz
- 11025 / 22050 / 32000 / 44100 / 48000: 44100 or 48000 Hz recommended for modern systems
- Swap left and right audio channels
- -: No swapping
- Paula only: Swap channels for Paula output
- AHI only: Swap channels for AHI output
- Both: Swap channels for both Paula and AHI
- Adds a small delay between stereo channels for a wider soundstage effect. Set to "-" to disable. Only available in stereo or multi-channel modes
- Emulates the Amiga's hardware low-pass audio filter
- Always off: Filter is never applied
- Emulated (A500): Filter state follows the Amiga's CIAA port A bit, using A500 filter characteristics
- Emulated (A1200): Filter state follows the Amiga's CIAA port A bit, using A1200 filter characteristics
- Always on (A500): Filter is always active with A500 characteristics
- Always on (A1200): Filter is always active with A1200 characteristics
- Always on (Fixed only): Always-on fixed filter only, without the LED filter component
- Volume for floppy drive head movement sounds when no disk is inserted (0–100%)
- Volume for floppy drive sounds when a disk is being read (0–100%)
- Selects the floppy drive sound sample set
- No sound: Floppy drive sounds disabled
- A500 (built-in): Realistic drive sounds using built-in A500 drive samples
- Selects which floppy drive (DF0: through DF3:) the sound settings above apply to
- Sets the audio buffer size in bytes. Smaller values reduce audio latency but may cause glitches on slower systems. The current size is shown next to the slider; the minimum position shows "Min"
