week 11 Revised Version of Concept Map
After iterative testing and evaluation, we conducted a related research process based on the new space and recorded the entire heuristic mind map.
Our team's domain is social media addiction, to gradually narrow down the entire research area and design direction to the target group, we chose to first for the social Media addiction the status quo to do a holistic exploration. According to Salehan and Negahban's positive correlation between social network mobile applications and mobile addiction, we can see that the more people use mobile phones, the more likely they are to be addicted to mobile phones. After learning about the differences between social media addiction and mobile addiction, users ' cognitive behaviour is one of the reasons for social media addiction. Social media addiction is influenced by both mobile addiction and user perception (Barnes, Pressey, and scornavacca,2019).
In addition to these two external factors, people's life satisfaction, happiness and stress are also the internal causes of their social media addiction. Besides, loneliness is another cause of social media addiction, and people generally alleviate the isolation of the way one is through mobile phone communication, the other is through face-to-head conversation. Research has shown that relying on mobile phones can reduce personal loneliness, while for young people long-time use of mobile phones can effectively mitigate loneliness. We can further reduce the scope of space by focusing on the causes, impacts, and analysis of specific groups of social media addiction. Punyanunt-carter says young people who are critical to social media may prefer to communicate through social media rather than face-to-head (2018). So, we can further determine the specific population of the study is young people.
Through the study of Hawi and Samaha, we understand that the increase of social media is negatively correlated with self-esteem, and is positively correlated with life satisfaction. This means that people with low self-esteem seem more inclined to rely on social media, based on which we can summarise the typical characteristics of people with social media addiction and determine the direction of specific space research. Through a representative Facebook survey of social media, we can explore the user and personality characteristics of using such social media applications. On this basis, we can speculate on the characteristic features of social media addicts and detect and propose appropriate solutions (Ryan, & Xenos,2011). In addition to providing support for the effectiveness of the programme, the results further confirmed the recommendation that no full abstinence should be enforced or that other interventions (Manwong, lohsoonthorn, 2018) could be applied. In the end, we look forward toa conceptual design through Mobile social theory as the inspiration base.
To further practice the entire design space, according to the research of Plass, Heidig and Hayward, we will choose the appropriate concept expression method according to the actual design principle of this study. Based on the research approach, we will consider using warm colours to trigger positive emotions, adjust the emotional outcomes of the target population, and improve life satisfaction.
