Attendees:
Nagendra, Aditya (RSG)
,
Gary, Neil (Pierce County)
Action Items
- Nagendra to setup a meeting mid-august
- Aditya to forward transit boarding data from PSRC database
- DKS to forward zone and network edits to county for review and incorporate in model inputs
- DKS to work with Bentley on subarea network extraction and automation
- DKS to develop a data collection plan
- County to forward INRIX speed data
- County to forward Streetlight OD data with district\zone equivalency
- County to create one traffic count database using PSRC and their own count database
- DKS to forward an email with zone splits and network edits. County to incorporate those in model networks and forward files to RSG.
- DKS to meet with Bentley to start working on the subarea extraction and automate the process. Nagendra to setup a meeting for next week.
- DKS is working on a data development plan
- Implemented household sampling. The changes are already committed to the PierceCast repo.
- Aditya is working on implementing telecommute model in DaySim
- Hannah is working on automating DaySim calibration process
- Coordinating with PSRC and Mark Bradley in obtaining the latest weighted household travel survey data for calibration
-
Land use data
- County is working with PSRC in updating the land use data.
- Stefan (PSRC) pointed to their land use allocator tool (https://github.com/psrc/soundcast_landuse_scenario_builder). Nagendra to take a look.
-
INRIX speed data
- County have the data processed. Will forward in the existing format for RSG\DKS to review.
- In addition to DTA corridor speed validations, the data could be useful for volume delay function adjustments in the PierceCast model.
-
Streetlight OD data
- The data is in 22 districts. 12 districts in pierce county.
- Gary to forward zone equivalency and data.
- The data would be useful in comparing model OD flows.
-
Traffic counts
- County is still working on merging the PSRC database and pierce county database.
- Looked at some locations, the magnitude was different. Looking more closely.
- Looks like pierce county time period data does not include higher volume facilities. Will be good to compare with PSRC and prepare a more comprehensive database. County to do this.
-
Transit boardings
- Aditya to forward data in SoundCast model for county to review.
- County may need help with land use scenario application. Possibly 3 scenarios (year 2044) - no action, densifying, and high growth.
- Will need help in allocating land use from Jurisdiction level controls to zones\micr-zones, coding and running the model, analysis of results, documentation, and presentation to stakeholders.
- Need help in design alternatives for each scenario. Dynameq could also be involved.
- Jeff F at RSG would be best suited in leading this. Nagendra to invite him in the next meeting.
- Nagendra is relocating to India this weekend. Will continue managing the project from India. The project team to always include Aditya in email communications.
- Gary requested someone from RSG to attend in-person meetings with stakeholders. Joel or Jeff are in Portland and when needed can attend in-person meetings.
- Nagendra to setup a meeting mid-august to provide status of the project to a broader team. Gary to invite Jesse and other county staff. Nagendra to invite Joel and Jeff.
The wiki describes the basic theory and process to use PierceCast for travel modeling applications.
