DCTRLs method for member organization.

Guilds are group of members, created and tracked on the AO and are made to manage projects, maintenance and facilitate discussion on common interests. Larger concept guilds like T-Guild for technology and C-Guild for governance allow members to focus on areas of their talent and interest while keeping track of projects within those categories.

There is no maximum to the number of members in a guild but the minimum is 3, this ensures there is a minimum amount of interest in a project or idea before moving forward with it – because all tasks must go through the guild process and be documented on the AO.

For instance, Meet-Up guild helps to ensure all events taking place under the DCTRL name keep to the core theme of the space, are properly organized, marketed and run. Meet-Up guild also ensures that members who fail to properly run events are given the support and advice they require to be successful.

Having a group share responsibility for a project means they can prevent other members from participating in that project if those members are repeatedly unsuccessful in their task and fail to show improvement.

There is no small task that can’t be created into a guild. Want to make sure the trash is being taken out? Trash Guild. Want to make sure the screws are organized? Screw Guild. Want to make soup for the members? There’s already a Soup Guild, so join it.

List of Guilds:

  • T-Guild - Technology, projects and discussion
  • L-Guild - Governance, Organization
  • C-Guild – Community
  • R-Guild – Umm…
  • Meet-Up Guild - Tracking and organizing events and meet-ups
  • Soup Guild – Providing delicious soup for DCTRL Members
  • VR- Guild - Use and Maintenance of the VR
  • AO – Guild - Building and using the AO

All guilds are tracked on the AO. Some larger concept guilds have dedicated channels on Keybase. Any guild can have it's own channel.
