Shapeways
Shapeways provides the 3D printed parts for FirePick. The preferred material is Strong & Flexible Plastic, which is printed with the tolerances needed by FirePick. As a nice touch, you can get the plastic in different colors. Sadly, printing the same parts in metal is not recommended because the tolerances are not tight enough for FirePick. Those of you with 3D extrusion printers will notice that some FirePick components, such as F002, have nested parts and can't be printed easily on an extrusion 3D printer. These parts rely on Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing, which does permit the printing of nested parts. It should be possible to create FirePick parts using 3D extrusion printing, but 3D SLS is currently the solution with the broadest availability at the least cost.
