Document Style Conventions

The group continued to review the pull request created by Martin Koob for Document Style Conventions

IEEE PAR Approval For cmi5

cmi5 is now approved as IEEE project (PAR = Project Authorization Request). The group discussed next steps and transition planning for IEEE meetings:

Plan Outline

• Kick-off Meeting (March)
• Move cmi5 spec into IEEE template
• Add proposed changes (IEEE will be a new cmi5 spec version)
• Ballot for Official Release (6 months+ ?)
• Publish Open Source Spec (GitLab)

Parallel Activities

• Maintenance of existing cmi5 spec?
• JSON LD for xAPI profile Server? (one for old spec vs IEEE spec?)
  • Make xAPI profiles BEFORE profile spec is finalized
• Create an IEEE - Working group for Best Practices and Adoption?
• Transition Phase
  • Promote Existing cmi5 spec & Test suite
  • Encourage participation in IEEE group to improve cmi5
