Spec Versioning

The group resumed its discussion on the version management process for the cmi5 Specification.

Proposed Process:

1. Use Current Repo (CMI-5_Spec_Current)
2. Branch Listed as “default” will be what we advertise as the current Release
3. Make a Pull Request for “quartz” branch to add the new Revision Section.
4. Make a Change log
5. Create a Tag for Quartz.0.1 and Quartz.0.0
6. Defer creating a Development Branch until “Breaking Changes” are made.
7. (will have decide when to apply Errata to Development then Quartz Branch)

1. Version Number: Quartz.0.1
2. (Narrative) Summary of Changes
3. Pull Request List (links)

Revision History

Versioning in the cmi5 specification is managed in the following manner:

• Major Version – Stones (Sandstone, Quartz, etc.) – Any changes in functionality
• Minor Version – Always zero. There are no minor versions.
• Errata – Minor corrections that do not affect functionality are indicated by serial number (1,2,3 etc.)
